Bitches stay home!
So where is the alternate dance bar? Harley's? Paleeze!!! This is the greatest gay bar to hit phoenix since FARRAH's!!! For all you bitches, stay home or go to Harley's!! Keep the music. (Our Cadillac has XM Radio, Channel 81 type music should be played more!!!!!)
End Of An Era
I guess nothing ever stays the same..which is the case for Amsterdam's. What a cool place this was. I haven't liked the place since they opened up Club Miami..the space is just not right. It's just to opened for a dance club. The crowd has thinned and changed. I'm sure the construction in the area hasn't helped. I say hire a new Dj stop playing all that generic anthem crap. Once in a while it's ok but every week. I guess it's true Phoenix is behind 10 years in music comapred to the east coast. DOn't bother with this place.
What Happened?
I haven't been to Amsterdam's in about five months...I can't believe how down hill it has gone! It's sad I guess it's time for me and my friends go elsewhere. I predict it will eventually turn into a straight bar..As the gay crowd realizes the magic is gone..they will cater to the straights..which it already has in my opinion..Overweight straight girls over crowd the dance floor already. Well atleast we'll have our memories, won't be going back!!
Not what it used to be
I loved this bar when it first opened. I know things change with the times, I was excited when I heard and saw the changes. Amsterdam was "the place" several years ago..now, it's just not the same. There are other mixed bars opening up in the area that offer a better a experience. You can take this place for what it is now, not much fun. I'll take the fantastic memories. One thing still going for this place is the patio..if you are lucky enough to get there early enough to score a table it can be fun. Good luck getting in during first fridays.
first stop of the night..
Going to have a drink before you start out your night is ok here. It's not a place you wanna spend most of your time. Little smirks everywhere. Oh well, queens will be queens. For the most part part the layout is nice. Promoting the club to a different crowd might curve the "iffy" atmosphere in a more positive way. I don't know about people feeling like they are confused if the place is a "straight or gay" environment. Well rounded I would say. Oh, and I love the "tiniez".
