Good local joint
Good spot to get out if you are in Scottsdale. Friendly crowd and good drink specials.
Was Going to BS Long Before it Was BS - Still Nice
My boyfriends and I formerly ate great meals at this always-a-gay-bar location. It changed names and owners over the years, since 1984, and has not been a restaurant for a long time, now. The current genre is very good. As I assume the rank of Gay Senior Citizen, I continue to find really nice guys of my own age, just as I always did - and lots of youthful eye candy. Their 2-for-1 beverage event helps keep visiting there affordable. Not "upscale", like most of Scottsdale, staff and patrons remain some of the friendliest around. No matter where you live, BS is well worth the trip. We enjoy some of Scottsdale's fine dining, then retire to BS for good times and an enjoyable end of a gay day.
get your drink on
i think the only thing i liked about this place was the two for one nights, and the bartenders pour heavy. they are very rude and obnoxious, but at least they can get you *&^^ up before heading somewhere else. dancing is fun after a few of those drinks, but the constant bumping into sweating gucci and prada from the dance floor being so small, it gets tiring. but ill still go again, mostly out of the lack of places in phoenix.
Way too far from the other bars
We had to drive around the block 4 times until we found out that it is hidden in the middle of a strip mall. Bartenders were NOT friendly but all the customers were very friendly. Bartender made a mistake a poured a drink on one of us and didn't even say "I'm sorry". It's just too far to drive from all the other bars in the central gay section of Phoenix.
faux-hawks a plenty
bar staff is pretty darn friendly. nice patio, but it's usually filled with smoke. the crowd? eh. lots of needlessly snooty scottsdale uber-twinks who have a few too many hollister/abercromble shirts. sunday night karaoke crowd is nice, though.
