Almost 4 years ago I began the campaign to improve the odds for students attending the Roosevelt School District. Passing an innovative anti-bullying policy, barring Sheriff Joe from accessing our campuses, drafting and organizing the effort to enact overrides that gave teachers a much needed pay raise and put technology into our classrooms, & developing programs that allow our kids to get their hands dirty while learning about STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts & math) are all points of pride. I’ve fought statewide for our schools and lead efforts that have created results. But let’s be clear: this is just the beginning and this fight is tough. There is still much, much more we have to do to fight for public education!
