Great place to relax during the day really fun at night
Not a bad neighborhood bar, mostly older men. Wednesday is a bad time to go.... no drink specials and a big group of vicious drunks called the bible study group.
Why the changes?
Apollo's was the first gay bar I ever went into. I grew up in Phx and it was my favorite place, besides Charley's, but I hear that has gone down hill too.
Sometimes loads of fun, other days . . . to be avoided !
There is a charm on some nights where one can enjoy the company of other men and friendly staff, but if you show up at the wrong time, it's got a few 50 year old men an attitude from staff you wouldn't wish on a homeless guy. Had fun, but not crazy about their schizoid-like atmosphere, one never knows. Try lottery, better odds. Who needs that when one is relaxing?
