I am not sure if the couple of reviewers made a mistake and ate at Kinkos next door, but I have never had anything other than a good meal and a good time at Fez. The food is good and the service I have always had was top rate. This is not the sort of place to go if you want to eat in 15 minutes though. My favorite thing at Fez is the Fez Burger, but I had some Pork Chops that were to die for as well as many other wonderful meals. Give it a try for yourself as well as Ticoz and Switch. No complaints here.

At these sister restarants (Fez, Switch & TiCoz) the best part is the alcohol. Remember, someone else bottled the ETOH, and the mixologists have ample room for error.
The efforts toward sophisticated, well, are efforts. For example, a one can pour cinnamon on canned pears, but they are still tragically canned.
The processed chicken, bay shrimp, and other meats are flavorless. Such ingredients are inappropriately prepared; for instance, my seafood pasta was a few items arranged in a pseudo-artistic manner. The flavors had just met when the items were stacked. A chef knows that the chemistry occurs when items are heated together. (Heck, my FWBs recognize that, too).
Each in this trio of eateries strives for the title "Urban." At this, I send my caution: true urbanites beware, lower your culinarly expectations, have a drink, and a second, then, go out to eat...

I have lived in Phoenix for 4 years now and have been to Fez a half dozen times by now. Each and everytime I have been the waiters just dont have it together! I am often left waiting by the door to be seated not even greeted. Then upon seating, One is made to wait for an eternity to get water. Pretty sad as we live in a desert and water is so critical. On placement of your order you can practically age waiting for it. Then forget about essentials as ketchup or say extra salad dressings etc! Basically once your selections arrive youre on your own. That check comes after a decade and you practically have to beg to pay and get outta there! Foods decent, atmosphere great but BAD SERVICE.

There are tons of restaurants that I love in Central Phoenix but I return to FEZ over them all time and time again for so many reasons. First of all, the food is out of this world. They are vegetarian and vegan friendly and really able to modify to accomodate everybody. The martinis are outstanding. The staff is friendly and accepting of everybody - from a gender-alternative 20-something to my 80 year old semi-deaf grandmother. This is a place where 'everybody knows your name'. Even if I haven't been in for 4 months, I come in and the staff will stop by my table to say hello and ask how I am doing. I have cried in there during lunch on really bad days at work and proposed to a waiter when really, really drunk. Through it all, I have been embraced and have always felt loved and cared for. When my friends and I want to celebrate, we go to FEZ. When we want to get together for brunch on Sunday, we go to FEZ. When my grandmother comes to visit and I want to take her to get fabulous food...well, you get the picture. Everybody I ever take there loves it.

Fez is a great Central Phoenix restaurant that can't be missed! Beautiful space, beautiful people and beautiful drinks. The food is tassty with a Middle-Eastern flair. The Kizrahs are delicious!
