The campaign will begin an open dialogue and raise awareness around the disparity faced by those within the LGBT community. We hope these conversations will change hearts, which in turn will change votes, bringing Arizona one step closer to equality.
The effort to make a difference in the world is demanding. In this case, the Equality Walkers have hosted endless events to raise necessary funds. They have organized actions along the route. They have taken time off work and away from family. They will travel in the searing summer heat, lead sensitive conversations, and contend with opposition and heat exhaustion. The Equality Walkers will struggle and press on through one of the most challenging experiences of their life...because this endeavor is meant to showcase the challenges faced by the LGBT community when they are not treated equally.
These efforts should not go unnoticed...efforts to create a world made up of open-minded, open-hearted people who personify the value we can make as individuals when we are willing to go these lengths to positively impact the lives of others.
