Join the Equality Walkers for the final mile of their 100 mile journey for LGBTQ Equality in Arizona!
Welcome to the dog days of summer. While most people in Arizona are spending the summer relaxing in the pool or paying high AC bills trying to keep cool, young adults will be spending the hottest month of the year traversing the Valley on foot. From Aug. 2-12, they will walk 100 miles, representing the 100 years that Arizona has been a state without full equality for LGBTQ citizens.

In 2012, the Equality Walkers will embark on the biggest journey yet, 100 miles across Arizona on foot, with the hot August sun beating down. For the first time the campaign will cover the entire state of Arizona to have an open dialogue around full equality for LGBTQ Arizonans.
Throughout the 100-mile journey, the Equality Walkers feet will hit the pavement to speak to police, city managers, faith communities, elected officials and individuals in diverse districts. These conversations will change hearts, which in turn will change votes, bringing Arizona one step closer to equality.
Join the Equality Walkers as they walk the final mile stretch from Phoenix City Hall to the Arizona State Capital, followed by speakers.
