Video bar attracting a mix of people from leather to bears
A new perspective on what was the Phoenix Eagle. They claim to play music from every decade (thus "retro" in the name). Former Eagle fans are disappointed in the new direction, but tell us what you think.

this is not the Eagle anymore! from the start most of the leather men were unfriendly to non-leather folk and when the Leather community fizzled out the bar had to either close or open it up to a wider group of people! sorry leather community...snooze you lose! But it's a fab bar now! It's a place for everyone!!!

Over the last two years, I have frequented the now defunct PhoenixEagle Bar five times now and have thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance, the potent cocktails, and bartenders Daddy Ron, Bill F., and Master Steve. They have always made me feel so at home here and it is very sad that the bar has been resurrected to the Retro Bar!

Retrobar is the revamped Eagle and a Trans-dream come true. I am looking everywhere for a sizzler (for those who missed the seventies, that is a silky dress so short that it came with matching panties as it was impossible to walk or move without flashing-GOD I miss the seventies!). Leave your whips, chains and collars hanging on the bedpost ladies and put on your brightest shortest skirts with a pair of go go boots or platforms. The dark black inside of Eagle is now lime green, eclectic metal work, lots of lava lamps and well lit enough so when you dress to be seen, someone can actually see you. Even the outside of the building is a trans-teal color. Okay, maybe just teal but this is the best thing to happen to north Phoenix's GLBT community since the Fuel went gay and I spent a night watching everyone in the place dancing on the bar. There is even a drag comedian on Saturday night to make it worth venturing north of the mountain. Retrobar is right in Jackie's backyard and will definitely be a regular stop for this girl.
So, what do you say?
