Planning a trip to Phoenix next week. A friend there told me the Cellblock was recently closed by the city due to safety violations. Rumor is that it will re-open in July. So call before you head that way to make sure their open.

I stopped in the Cell Block during the week of 04/12/08-04/19/08 on three occasions and thoroughly enjoyed myself there. The bartenders (most notably, black-haired little Tony, who happened to know my deceased friend, Timmy Fiedor) were very friendly. In fact, little Tony saved me the very last Cell Block tee shirt he had at the bar in a size medium and held it for me. He was true to his word! The leather men and boys here are very hot, friendly, and sincere -- not like the leather community in NYC. Yes, I am a NYC-ite! So, keep on keeping on.

I had a great time meeting people in the dark corners!! The atmosphere was electric. If you are looking for some innocent fun, this bar is for you.

If you enjoy a bar that is so dark it's next to impossible to see what somebody really looks like, Cellblock is for you. The bathrooms are really disgusting. Ceiling is falling apart, piss usually all over the floor. It seems like everybody there has been with everybody sexually. There is however an area with some decent lighting (front bar) that you could strike up some conversation. Gets overcrowded Thurs. thru Saturday. Not a place for everyone. Bartenders are mostly decent, but there are a few that seen to ignore the customers.

This is a great fun bar. Seedy.. In a good gay way... The staff is so nice. Dark corners everywhere. Hot men, Hot outfits. HOT HOT HOT. No attitude at this place.

One of my favorite spots to hit when I'm in Phoenix - usually great bartenders, prices are decent, it's HUGE and has lots of dark corners. Really mixed crowd considering the Leather/Levi focus of the place. Plenty of eye-candy for different interests...

I love this Bar. It used to be a Mexican restaurant called "La Cucaracha" (Spanish for cockroach). I'm surprised the city hasnt condemned the building. Lots of guys complain its too dark inside. It's no place for cologne soaked queens. Beyond Rustic--I love it.
So, what do you say?
